It is now possible to send notifications under Article 6.4 of the R&TTE Directive electronically using a one-stop procedure to a number of spectrum authorities. The currently participating countries are: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland (who also will handle the notifications for Liechtenstein).

WLAN equipment transmitting in the band 5600-5650 MHz has been found to cause interference to meteorological radars employing non-constant pulse interval times (staggered or inter-leaved PRFs). The European Commission is expected to issue formal guidance on interpretation of EN 301 893. Meanwhile, manufacturers may wish to seek an opinion from a NB. The important immediate considerations for mass market products are ability to deal with staggered PRF or complete avoidance of the 5600 – 5650 MHz part of the band.
